Entry into Tik-Tok - eCom

Hello everyone ! Quick update; I went paid two days ago ! Will still be doing a ton of free posts. However in the paid post, I’ll be discussing the Metaverse and even how to make money from the rise of the Metaverse, We are all still super early, but I’ve been in the Metaverse since 2012 I was growing up in the leading player of the Metaverse called “roblox” up until 2017. So I’ve watched this digital economy grow to where it is for a very long period, I have a lot to talk about so check it out!
I sketched this post up in like a solid 30 minutes, I kept getting DM’s about starting an online biz and using tik tok as a source of free traffic so I just wanted to share this little post for everyone who keeps asking. Also BowTiedArthur recently opened up a discord purely focusing on E-Commerce, I’m an admin there and can confirm its super swag and has great potential and I have posted some content myself that is not even on this post so you should check it out !
So let’s analyze this battlefield of ours shall we?

There are an estimated 12 million – 24 million eCommerce sites across the entire globe, with more and more being created every single day. If these numbers make you think it’s a competitive market — don’t worry. Less than 1M of these sites sell more than $1,000/year, so there’s tons of room for growth.
Around 50% of people say they’d purchase something from a website’s chatbot using conversational marketing.

Shouting out BowTiedBull here, It’s been stated several times if you want to get rich off eCommerce you should target the wealthy and women. But even if those aren’t your plans I recommend at minimum charge $50 for whatever you’re selling.
Firstly, I get asked a lot ! “What Niche should I do”
So when It comes down to picking a Niche, I like to focus on three major things.
Is this Niche trending? ( Check eBay, google trends, hashtags )
Can I make a brand out of this ? ( Will you have Super Fans? that will buy your products just because they like what the brand stands for )
Can I obtain recurring customers ?
Around 80% of people FORGET they have subscriptions, so once you receive a $50 sale, you should EXPECT another sale from that person. A lot of people are very unaware and often forget a month later that they still had their card linked to your website.
Personally I signed up to this website called Trends.Com where you pay $1 for a week’s worth of access, then around $299 or something for the year… I forgot about that subscription and found a charge for $299 and no refunds allowed.. It’s the same thing with Zik Analytics, I signed up and forgot that they would charge me $30. Often people are very busy and just don’t have the time to remember, also a big tip is when they pay for the sub you should give them some sort of dopamine right away so they have the urge to obtain it rather than focus on un-linking the card.
Like Tinder for example, Let’s you scroll right away ! And forces you to click the option that you are ok with recurring purchase, Someone who is focused on that scrolling will forget that the card was linked and ends up with another charge a month later.
So I’m not saying you need to be evil or anything but focus on ensuring you have a recurring plan with no refunds ! (:
Picking a Niche
Now that you have your three questions, How I figure out niches is through a few ways of market research, you have apps like Zik Analytics, Google Trends, Amazon, Ebay, Etsy, Mercari, Aliexpress, Alibaba, Tik tok hashtags, Instagram hashtags etc.
You want to study all of these platforms and find something that sparks your interests within the frame of these 3 questions. Now you have two ways of figuring out if this Niche works, Like BTB mentioned you can order a sample piece and send out free organic ads through tik tok to see if it works, on top of that you can even try dropshipping the item or having it listed on apps like Mercari or Etsy if your in the US.
You have shopify giving you a week of free access, and Tik Tok giving you the BEST organic Traffic that exists on any platform right now. What you need to prioritize is constantly attempting to tap into markets and having thing’s published out into the world of Cyber Space.
I’ve had 3 phones before, Running 5 tik tok accounts on each phone for the simple fact that my niche was making crazy profits and I wanted to post as much content without Tik Tok showing me less to the algorithm for posting too much.
When It comes to markets, I like tapping into ones that exist already. So let’s say I see a gift box niche or subscription model based box that you get monthly, Whatever that niche is if its astrology, skincare, home stuff, whatever. I like to take thing’s that exist and just make it better in some way. Potentially whoever is marketing it sucks or doesn’t bring it out to its highest potential, maybe the items that the gift box has are selling, but it could be way better. I like items like these also because the hit the price range of around $50 or more, that way you can get only like 5 customers and already be up around $100 in profit…
bam, you went on Tik Tok and searched the hashtag #must-have-amazon-items , you found a product within 10 minutes, you went onto Etsy and have found proof it receives sales, you get your free week shopify trial and test a twist version you have of the product then proceed to advertise on Tik Tok organically.
This is just about trial’s, you have to keep testing products so you can learn and adapt what works. Tik Tok organic traffic is free and amazing, your only costs should be the product.
For a $50 product, Let’s say you are making $20 per client/ It takes only 5 clients to reach $100 in profit, and you’ll be making $1,000 every 50 clients.
Similar to how amazon has a one click buy button, you should be very light with what you have, the advertisement on tik tok should be enough to convince the buyer they want it, and the actual website itself would be a very simple layout allowing them to buy with ease.
Creating your own Website
Firstly, You have a desktop version and a Mobile version.
Both versions need to be VERY dialed into the product and not clustered with information that doesn’t matter, Funnel your customer into the purchase.
You have your heading with the brands name, checkout button, customer support.
Then you want to have a photo of your product, a buy button.
Then below that some information and reviews on the product.
( Remember you are testing the product at the moment, you don’t need to go all out with tools and what not ) In the future once you prove you can work with the niche, then you can focus deeper into the development of your website to make it more user friendly.

Simple guys, no need to do anything insane. You’re just testing a product. In the future your website will look more developed like this potentially when you’re trying to progress further.

TIK TOK MARKETING
Firstly TIK TOK content is NOT the same as instagram\snapchat or facebook content.
Tik tok Algorithm works with a user based flow on what they like so far, you need to make content that keeps them in that mindless flow, if you break that flow you won’t get any watch time. Studying the algorithm by just scrolling yourself doesn’t always work because you’ll only see top content made by actual people performing some type of acts. But the case is YOU don’t need to be a person performing you can really just post your product without people being involved, you should really dial into researching opponents on tik tok that are in a similar niche or just do you good in some way such as providing you with trending music. Music is everything on this app because it’s the main way people get hooked.
How often do they hook the viewer?
How did they force viewers to comment
Is this video Junk Information ? ( tik tok scrollers like junk info )
Is this a trend in the moment ?
Music is important, you have music that is trending and you need to be apart of that in order to ensure you are in that current algorithm flow, MUSIC is what will LOCK in the viewer.
Your users will RARELY go on the following page, Keep that in mind when posting content. 95% of your views will be from the FYP which means they will most likely be a new viewer or potentially an old one that happens to be getting your content again.
People who watch tik tok are normally mindless, They want to know junk information and they want to know it fast, tap into their emotions by allowing them these things and you will win.
When it come’s to a product on Tik Tok, The user watching it is mindless, scared or nervous about something. After all they tuned into the app for a reason, you need to promote your product in the light that it will solve some type of current problem they are having. I understand it’s hard to create content from scratch when you barley know anything about Tik Tok. So I’m going to lay down some Fundamentals and steps so you can do your best right away and slowly learn what your audience likes.
If you need a persons voice over your video rather than music DO NOT USE YOUR OWN VOICE.
Record a video of your product, Now add some form of Text.
Your 3rd option when editing the text is “text-to-speech”
Use Jessie’s voice, This is what the algorithm is currently mostly using, people like her voice and will tune in when they hear it.
You can actually “hide” the text and still get Jessie’s voice.
Influencer marketing works really well once you figure out your product works, besides your own brand page posting content. I would highly recommend using an influencer, they are very cheap and know how to post already.
Here’s an example
One of the main thing’s you want to also abuse on Tik Tok is the ability to constantly show new videos in one total video, Users will quickly get sick if you’re slow paced and not showing them thing’s fast enough. They want to see a new place of your product and a bunch of examples on how it can be used quickly and effectively while jamming out to whatever song your playing, you have to hook the audience every few seconds.
Personally one of my brands has an account that does fake giveaways and focuses on just generating emails towards people who want to get onto my niche but maybe just dont have money or something, I mainly will post something funny that has to do with my niche or maybe content that actually has some facts to it. Then put in my caption that I’m doing a giveaway for a product.
This is mostly a younger audience that will send our their email to you, so you can respond back with saying “Sorry you didn’t win this giveaway, but here’s 30% off on your product for a limited time.”
Don’t forget with Tik Tok, No two users will see the same videos on their For You page, and the videos you see might change over time based on your viewing preferences and even your current state of mind. You need to stay updated with how the algorithm is currently working for the masses. Think how the masses would be thinking in the moment and try to flourish your content based off the facts you’ve come up with, all tik tok is about is being able to release a “hack” so you can “hack” the humans attention watching the video.
When it come’s to Tik Tok you need to ensure every couple of seconds of your video enables a pull command onto the user watching, you need to HOOK them every few seconds in order for them to reach the end. If you are not properly constantly giving out several hooks during your video you will receive less watch time and your video will be shown less.
Tik tok loves to promote videos that get watched more than once and videos that have users commenting, you should encourage your viewer to in some way comment in the video.
You can even do something stupid that forces them to talk shit about you, as long as it encourages the user to post a comment then its fine, I’ve seen video’s where the user posting will purposely make some type of drama occur just so they can receive more comments.

My thoughts on E-Commerce
Now let’s dial into a few thing’s, How will the future of E-Com work ? I’m positive AI will exist that starts to give crazy advanced recommendations to users for new items that have appeared on the market, Most likely Amazon will be the leading group for this type of AI.
The world is moving into a more Digital Realm, We have Web 3.0, the meta-verse and 90% of children growing up playing games in the Digital World already, ( My freshmen year of high school, 3 years ago just about, I can confirm, Almost everyone is fully dialed into a phone as if it has become apart of them, who they are as beings.. You need to understand with this age group’s brain plasticity they are easily becoming crazy attached to this external object that guides them through their actions. This abundance of information leads to distractions and prevents many from pursuing their real goals. Many do not use these super computers to learn anything really fascinating, The masses are scared and wish to use Tik Tok as a means to relax them. 90% of Tik Tokers are going on the platform to receive Dopamine pleasure and Junk Information quickly.
So this is where you take these types of fact’s and meditate on them, You need to decide here and now what type of markets will you tap into? You could tap into markets that are physical or you can tap into a market that has Digital Products, Even potentially doing both. But the key here is understanding what the masses do on a daily basis, What can you sell that will grasp their attention and stimulate them? Teens and young adults want many things, such as Attention, Glory, Beauty, To stay ahead of the rest of the masses, An example is a product that makes your room into a color that you can only find from the Natural sun, You just made them feel good! Now they can post on Instagram with this amazing lighting! They want high-end clothing so they can feel good about themselves and get bitches. Make the masses feel good and you will win. But you have to think like the masses would in terms of whats “good” to them.
